what i'm thankful for
i remember in the car ride on the way home from teens camp, and i got really mad at my sister, and i realized that we never got along. i have no idea why, but everything she did always irritated me. so i decided to ask God to help me accept her more into my life, instead of always shunning her and telling myself that she was annoying. this thanksgiving, i can say that i'm thankful, not only for my family, for my friends, my life and for God, but also for Him hearing me and guiding me to be a better sister to my sister :) just talking to her now, i'm glad that i won't grow old despising her, and disliking her!
IB Quote of the day... (fill in the blank)
"if ____ and my relationship were a reaction, _____ would be the catalyst." ;) you know what i'm talkin' about haha

if only...
...i had enough will-power to deactivate facebook.
...homework was easy.
...i was done with IB.
...i could travel the world.
...could spend everyday with my favourite people.
...fridays would come sooner.
...summer would last for 9 months and winter the other 3 (unlike now).
...i could focus on my homework and not on blogging.
...kp and janc didn't make me so freakin' excited for friday nights.
...i knew everything i needed to know for school.
...11:11 MAKE A WISH actually worked.
...i could read minds, then people wouldn't be so complicated.
...white rock wasn't so far away from burnaby.
...there were more hours in a day.
...i could ever be able to finish this list.

a great start to the year (besides school)
wow. september 09 has turned out to be one of the greatest months ever for me. first teens camp, and then me to we day? craziness. i'm glad i listened to the cousins about going to RRC this year...imagine if i had decided not to? i wouldn't have met all these amazingly cool people from BAC, and although i would never know, i'd be regretting it for the rest of my life. i think it was fate that brought me to teens camp this year. i've just been getting this vibe from God, like it was meant to be. figures, considering i haven't gone to church or prayed or anything in, oh, only about 8 years. i think teens camp was God's way of getting me to get in touch with him again, and i'm hoping to do more of that throughout this year (as long as IB doesn't kill me). i don't think i'll ever forget this summer because of the friends i met at teens camp :). and after coming back from the me to we day at GM place, it's really gotten me thinking on the whole aspect of social change. what can we as young people do to change the world and the lives of other young people in need? EVERYTHING. because everyone's always telling us that "we're just kids", isn't it the better reason for us as young people to eradicate the stereotype that we are the generation which doesn't care, and doesn't give back. mia farrow even said today, that "[we] are the generation that [she] has been looking for". it's because of these perceptions that we can't and aren't willing to do anything that should make it easy for us; no one has any great, overwhelming expectations of us. then why can't we give ourselves some responsibility? the smallest actions could impact a whole village in Kenya, or Peru, but because of the mentality that "we're just too young", no one seems to care. and that's really sad, because WE ARE THE GENERATION FOR CHANGE.
